Japan clearly needs new inovative ideas to combat it’s crisis at Fukushima Daiichi. Isn’t it time for a blog like MIT NSE Nuclear Information Hub to start a global collecting effort open source style of all idéas we around the globe can come up with? We need novel idéas right? We are really outside charted waters, right? Linux works, doesn’t it?

Right away I would like to offer my first idéa on how to get water to spent fuel pool 4:

Snowball thrower

Basically, build a super-size leaf-blower machine and add a snowball charger. It should be easier to aim and shoot snowballs at reactor 4 spent fuel pool compared to a water canon. It’s kind of 17:th centry balistics calculation we’re talking about. Snow should be truckable from north of Japan.
