New Year: 2006 Best Year Ever

Summarizing 2006, celebrating New Year in Dresden and looking forward into 2007.

2006

2006 has been a really great for me, on of the best ever.

The big PROs
  • the four weeks as chief/patroll leader at 'program', Vässarö Scout Centre. The work was really hard, but the company, the scouting spirit and the friendship was great.
  • my Colombian journey (photos etc. comming up).

More good stuff

I don't know why but it seems I'm good at finding international friends. When I travel abroad, I'ts always to see my friends and that's something really great.

The big CONs
  • Sadly, I can only say job has been a real mess this year.
  • Too few parties

2007

My hopes for 2007 is simply more of what works and removing waste (what doesen't work).

Things that could happen:
  • I and Tomas finnish our PakYak project (not so likely)
  • Tomas, I and Gustav end up as leaders for both senior- and patroll- scout groups (very likely)
  • I end up in Colombia (hopefully)
  • I go to http://www.jiingijamborii.se camp
  • I spend three week as scout member at Vässarö Scout Centre
  • I finnish this site and starts with another interesting project (I really hope, lots of plans!)
  • Learn spanish (hopefully)
  • Start making music again and learn more guitar chords (if time permitts)

What about New Year in Dresden?

I flew to Dresden, which is a really nice city (and if you go there don't forget to visit Leipzig too) to visit my friend Charlotte. http://www.flickr.com/photos/charlottenordahl/ .

Germany isn't cheap any more, but still I managed a visit to http://www.globetrotter.de since I like outdoor gear :).

Personally, I just enyoy walking around in this city.

The most remarkable thing about New Year in Dresden is that the people of Dresden lit fire to far more fireworx (per person) than any other German city (I've heard) and it really seems that way. Down by river Elbe New Year's like the battle of Lützen: gunpowder fog so you cant see much and explosions pretty much everywhere. Crazy.

With great hope about a joyfull and meaningfull 2007

Martin
