Too few new scouts

This years autumn recruitment of new scouts have so far been a disappointment with respect to the number of new scouts.

This autumn we got 12 new scouts. This is way too little. How come? In the spring we distribute information about our recruitment day in the schools. There are several ways to apply to the recruitment day. This year we received 0 phone calls (we usually get about ten to fifteen), no ordinary mails (five to ten) and only 5 applications through the web.

As I usually argue on this blog: the web is a marketing tool. The marketing tool tells us that the applications where entered at almost random time with no connection to when the application form invitations where distributed. Take a look at the number of visitors to our home page in the last days of spring . We should have had more visitors.

The conclusion therefore must be that the information we distributed did not reach the parents of the potential new scouts. That means, we failed in logistics.

The question for the future is, why do we fail in logistics?
